Prolonged Exposure Intensive FAQs

What is a Prolonged Exposure Intensive?

A Prolonged Exposure Intensive simply means longer, more frequent sessions. This allows you to address your trauma in a quicker time frame than traditional therapy models allow for. Rather than meeting for 1 hour a week, an intensive allows sessions to be held 2-3 times per week at 1 1/2 to 3 hours each.

How does a Prolonged Exposure Intensive Work?

An intake/assessment session is held to identify your needs related to trauma healing, determine your goals for the intensive, provide education regarding Prolonged Exposure, and we will discuss the steps for you to take prior to beginning. During this assessment session we will also decide the time frame of sessions and the frequency with which we will meet.

On the days of the intensive we will meet for the per-determined time frame and move through the Prolonged Exposure protocol. There will be exposure practice between sessions for you to complete.

At the end of the intensive we will meet for a post-intensive assessment and review. This will allow you to reflect on what you’ve learned and how to incorporate this into your life moving forward.

How much does a Prolonged Exposure Intensive cost?
