What is an EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR Intensive is longer, sometimes more frequent sessions, that allow for a more focused way of progressing through your trauma symptoms without the interruption of having to wait another week for the standard weekly therapy session.

You’ll have more time to become comfortable and build trust before we begin to address your trauma.

You’ll have more time to reprocess, allowing us to completely address your target memories in a shorter amount of overall time.

You’ll get quicker releif from intrusive traumatic memories that are currently leaving you stuck.

you’ll be able to move forward and focus on what’s important to you.

An EMDR Intensive provides you quicker access to specialized time slots that are marked for intensives only.

How does an EMDR Intensive work?

We will meet for a 1 hour pre-intensive interview to determine your goals and needs for the intensive session. We will complete an assessment to determine your needs related to trauma healing, you will be provided education regarding EMDR and we will discuss steps for you to take prior to the intensive date.

On the day of the intensive we will meet for the pre-determined timeframe. We will improve your emotional regulation skills, identify target memories, and reprocess those memories so that they are less charged and impactful on your daily functioning.

After the intensive we will meet again for a post-intensive interview to reflect on what you learned and how it has been helpful in your life. We will again complete an assessment to determine the progress you’ve made.

How much does an EMDR Intensive cost?

Pricing for an EMDR Intensive is as follows:

• Pre Intensive Assessment & Interview: $300

• EMDR Intensive: $200 per hour (minimum 3 hours); Saturday sessions are $300 per hour

• Post Intensive Assessment: $200

• A workbook is included
